Reset Laptop Power - Laptop Not Starting

Sometimes a laptop won't start up due to a problem with the state of the power circuitry.  Often these simple steps will reset and fix the problem:
  1. Unplug the power adapter from your laptop.
  2. Remove the battery pack. Usually there is a release latch on the bottom of the laptop that you need to slide to unlock and lift the battery out.
  3. Press and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect your laptop’s power adapter.
  5. Press the power button to turn on the computer with the battery still not installed. If it starts, you have successfully reset the power circuitry.
  6. Once the laptop is fully started, do a proper shutdown. When the shutdown is complete, reinstall the battery pack.
